Early Years and Crèche provision

A number of primary schools have nursery provision but there are also groups and private nurseries in the local area. Please let us know if there are other groups/nurseries we can add to this section.

St Mellons Community Crèche

The crèche is set up to provide good quality affordable childcare to enable parents to access local learning and training. The crèche is sessional and you will only be able to access the service if you’re signed up on a training course. To visit their website please click here

Oakfield Integrated Children's Facility

Language and Play

At Oakfield Primary they offer free Language and Play sessions for Parents/Carers and children 0 - 4 years old. Language and Play is designed to help and support parents and carers and their babies and children in a friendly fun enviromnent.

Langauge and Play is offered every Tuesday at our Intergrated Childrens Facilities.

9.00 - 10.30am
1.00 - 2.30pm

The sessions are run by Mrs Williams a member of our Nursery staff who is also a trained Language and Play leader.

Little Oaks

At Oakfield there is a very successful parent and toddler group called Little Oaks. We meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9-11am at our Intergrated Children Facilities. Little Oaks is free for parents and carers with children between 0-4 years old.

Each session offers many fun and exciting activities for the babies and toddlers such as painting, sticking, sand, water, role-play and many more.

Each child is offered a healthy snack and there is tea and coffee on offer for parents and carers.

Little Oaks is run by a member of Nursery staff, Mrs Goulding. The sessions are also drop in sessions, so if you feel you can't stay for the whole time you can just go as you please.
